Hey everyone! My name is Avery, and I am an Economics major from Midland, Texas. I enjoy watching Disney+, taking tons of naps, and making my own coffee.

When was the first time you connected with the club? What was your initial reaction?

Fall of 2017, when I first arrived at Tech. I thought it was going to be the same kind of club as my youth group back home, where no one cares except the weird kids. Turns out, just about every student in the club cares about the Lord and loves Him. I noticed that and liked it.

What exactly did you like most about Christians at Tech that led you to join the club over a number of other things? What surprised you the most or made you the happiest about joining C@T?

I liked that people actually cared. I liked that there was not an apparent “cool kids” group that I thought I had to fit in with.

What are three benefits you’ve experienced as a result of joining C@T?

1)     I read my Bible.

2)     I have the best friends that I could ever imagine having.

3)     I pray to the Lord.

How did/does knowing Christ and pursuing Him with others in the club help you?

It gives my life meaning, and it makes me very happy. I read my Bible. I have the best friends I could ever imagine. My friends help me pursue, and I love them a lot.

If you were to recommend C@T to your best friend (or any interested student), what would you say?

The people in the club live Jesus more than anyone I have ever seen in my life. And it is not just the staff and the older people, the students love Jesus like I didn’t even know was possible for someone who is under the age of 40. They are the happiest and nicest people ever. They are funny and still read their Bible and pray and love Jesus. They are not lame. They are awesome, and I love them.

Describe C@T in 1-2 words.

Very happy. Love Jesus. Best friends. Read Bible.
